A new fuel pump (and incidental new relay) have fixed the fuel system problem for now. Please see that response under "1997 Outback occasionally won't start for a few hours". Sep 26, 2006 · You will need to remove the crank pulley. step 1 : remove all belts step 2 : take the bolt out of crank pulley step 3 : pull pulley off with puller step 4 : remove the covers step 5 : remove timing belt step 6 : reinstall everything Rubber hose removal, slit it lengthwise with a sharp blade, install a new hose.
Make sure the fuel line is well-secured to the engine and to the fuel tank so that it won’t come off in flight. Do not use silicone fuel line because it will be dissolved by the fuel. Use gasoline approved vinyl or neoprene rubber fuel line. Always secure the fuel line away from the cylinder. The engine’s heat can damage the fuel line.
The fuel injector pump is 100% mechanical (manufactured by Bosch) and runs off the aforementioned gear train. We can only assume that the timing for the injector pump is also correct, since nothing in the gear train was moved, plus it was checked several times. That is also supported by the fact that the engine runs at idle but won’t accelerate.

May 03, 2009 · when i took the truck to shop i found the fuel line hoses that come off the transfer pump, were flat. so i changed the hoses. when i pulled the hoses off i heard a loud vac sound, like there was a lot of air in the lines. i also changed the fuel filter and transfer pump. i cannot get the truck to start. it sounds like it wants to start but dosent.
Most likely the vacuum pump as mentioned. You can get the pump off the engine without removing the pulley by completely removing the bolts that will come off and backing off the one that won't. When you go to put the new one on, you will need to put the one bolt through the correct mounting bolt hole BEFORE putting the pulley on the new pump ...

Sep 05, 2011 · pull the wheel off,two bolts hold the caliper on,after u pull the caliper off,u can see the brake pads sitting in the caliper bracket,u can just pull those off,if u need to get to the rotors,u gotta take two more bolts out of the bracket,the rotor should just pull off or u might have to smack it with a hammer that is if its a pull of rotor,if its a rotor with wheel bearing in it u gotta take the dust cap off and take the nut off and along with the bearing,its fairly simple,hope that helps ...
Take the two 10mm bolts out holding the fuel filter housing. Then lay the fuel filter over out of the way. This might require removing the fuel lines if you still have hard lines yet. Now remove the three 10mm bolts holding the ECM to the tappet cover. Lay it over as well toward the driver side fender.

If having it repaired, make sure the filler cap assembly is removed. its quite easy, take off the fuel filler cap & you will see a phillips screw just of top centre, unscrew it & then rotate the complete black plastic assembly (with the fuel filler flap attached) anti clock wise & it will come off the car, this way you dont have to remove the fuel tank.
